Richard Mercier
Director of Photography

Richard Mercier studied computer science at Sherbrooke University and owns a D.E.C in science.He then studied in photography

before becoming a graphic designer for a Quebecor weekly newspaper. Richard has more than 15 years of experience as an independent photographer. He also worked for a communications agency where he contributed to the design of publicity concepts.

Since ten years now Richard works at HFD print shop as an infographist and he brings his knowledge of photography into the world

of CG!

 

 

 

Heloise Magny
Animated Film Director

Heloise has a strong interest for visual effects. She is now working at MPC as a Layout artist on Transformers : Rise of the Beasts.

She owns a bachelor degree in visual effects from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco in visual effects with an emphasis on 3D modeling.

Her first short film ''Helena's Dream'' was nominated for best animated film and won the best director animation and best foreign film award at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards in 2015. She won two awards of merit at the Accolade Global Film Competition and at the Best Shorts competition in California and her recent film ''Keep Painting, Mom'' is in international competitions

and wins several prizes.

She worked in collaboration with Red Giant Studios on the short film ''Them Greeks!...'' directed by Spyros Tsiounis

(Coraline, Shrek Forever After) as a 3D artist and recently collaborated with Michael Grais (Cool World, Poltergeist) for the concept of a creature for a film in development. 



 

Margarita Manoilow
Storyteller and awards jury member

Margarita Manoilow is a VFX&Compositing Artist currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She has obtained BFA from the School of Animation and Visual Effects at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, and AAS

in Graphic Design.

Since 2005 Ms. Manoilow has been working with traditional and digital media in her studio to provide
graphic design and post-production services, as well as to create artwork for various publishing and VFX houses.
She has been involved into numerous projects, among which is her outstanding compositing work for Tyco Electronics,
one of the largest electronics companies in California, as well as the animated film Helena's Dream, where she is currently
working as a Visual Effects Supervisor.

Ms. Manoilow has taught fine arts classes at several schools in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently she is an Art Instructor
at Ichen Art Academy, Fremont, CA, where she effectively teaches art appreciation and promotes creativity among her students.
